Naruwan Taiko is going to be a part of She Fest San Diego for the very first time ever! We open for the event at 12:30 pm in Hillcrest. Come on out for fun and sun!
She Fest delivers empowering and accessible programming and content that centers LGBTQ+ women and non-binary people; creates opportunities to connect LGBTQ+ small businesses to new audiences; facilitates social events that bring people together; and invests in and celebrate the volunteer leadership of She Fest committee members. Our year-round efforts culminate in an annual flagship event that brings over 4,000 of our community members together to kick off San Diego’s Pride week in July.
Where: Hillcrest Pride Flag, 1500 University Avenue, San Diego, CA 92103
When: Saturday, July 9, 2022, 12 PM – 6PM
Come see us this weekend! We’ll be at MUSIC EN LA CALLE 2022 by Bodhi Tree Concerts at 1:00 pm this Saturday June 25th at Tierra Central on the corner of 41st and University Avenue. In 2021, this was the very first event that we did after a year of lockdown. For some of us, it was the first time hitting a real taiko in so long, and you could really feel the joy even despite the challenge of exerting this much energy again . The audience members even said it felt like we were just bursting out of that difficult period and bringing the crowd along with us!
We are very grateful to Bodhi Tree for providing that window for our team to re-emerge last year, so we’re quite honored and excited to return to this community on Saturday. See you there!
We’re back at an annual favorite THIS Sunday June 5th for the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon! This will be our 13th year as a part of this community event. See us on the triangle intersection of Pershing, Jacaranda, and Redwood next to the Morley Disc Golf Course. On the course map, this is between the Half Marathon’s Mile 10 and 11.
We’ll be keeping the beat there from 7:00 am to approximately 11:00 am, so bring a chair, enjoy the morning energy, and say hello!
On March 27th, we will be bringing our taiko to TEDxSanDiego at The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center in La Jolla! The group will open for the event around 1:00 pm and kick off the second half around 3/3:30 pm.
Come celebrate the Year of the Tiger at the International Cottages in Balboa Park! House of China will host a Chinese New Year Fair from 11am-5pm on Saturday Feb. 19. Naruwan Taiko will take the stage at 2:30pm!
Join us for a celebration of WMC’s new educational facility at the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation. Enjoy an afternoon of free food, beverages, music, exhibits, and more. The event runs from 1-4pm.
Naruwan will perform on the main stage at 1:15pm. Hope to see you there!
Naruwan will be helping to fire up the runners at the 48th Annual Crown City Classic 12K & 5K Run along the Coronado Bay on Saturday July 3, starting at 7am. Our location is near the Start/Finish line in Tidelands Park.
